This project will be a complete station-in-a-box containing:
o CW tranceiver for 20/40/80/160m bands
o Frequency counter / clock (using ultra low current 7-segment LED displays)
o ATU
o Morse key
o Rechargeable NiMH battery pack
o Space for antenna wire
Not much progress yet, but the parts are all ready for when time permits.
Left: The beginning of the frequency counter / clock module. The 7-segment displays are only 8mm high, and consume very low current. Even so, there will be a switch so that they can be turned off for power saving. Right: The morse key, about 3 inches long. It is constructed around an old ball bearing, brass sheet and tube from the model shop, and a brass cupboard door knob from the DIY store.
